alpha trans Internationale Spedition GmbH is founded in Frankfurt, Germany. With a team of just four people, the company begins by importing products like semiconductors from the USA to Germany.
Peter Barth, who was also Managing Director of BARTH+CO, founds the company’s branch in Munich. This location quickly becomes the headquarters of alpha trans. The company changes its name to alpha trans Luft- und Seefrachtspedition GmbH & Co. KG
alpha trans agrees an exclusive partnership with U-Freight Ltd., gaining a strong network. This successful collaboration continues to this day.
The alpha trans headquarters relocates from the old airport in Munich’s Riem district to new offices at Munich Airport Franz Josef Strauss. The business has remained here ever since and benefits from its proximity to the airport.
alpha trans becomes a regulated agent of Germany’s Federal Aviation Office, making it part of the secure supply chain in countries outside the EU.
Tim Teubert opens the alpha trans office in Düsseldorf, the company’s first in Germany’s most populated state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This site also grows strongly, due in no small part to its proximity to the local airport.
To maintain a constant presence at Germany’s largest port, alpha trans opens an office in Hamburg. Alongside sea freight, the team here provides support for all other modes of transport.
alpha trans opens an office in Stuttgart, initially to support a major customer. This too quickly grows into an entire team that continues the location’s successful development.
alpha trans becomes an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) with status F, a certification from the European Commission that marks it out as a particularly trustworthy and reliable business partner.
Rainer Hörmansperger is the driving force behind the foundation of alpha trans’ office in Hong Kong. By now, the team in Germany has grown to 80.
Leadership of the company passes to experienced alpha trans managers Rainer Hörmansperger and Tim Teubert, who have continued to manage it successfully together to this day.
Establishment of the branch in Shenzhen, China. This location represents a significant milestone in alpha trans’ global expansion and reinforces its presence in Asia.

We are convinced that even small changes can have a big effect if they are consistent. That is why we at alpha trans also look for areas within our own business and area of influence where we can make a difference and create a better world.
We work with Fruitful Office to provide us with healthy snacks while doing some good in the world. For every fruit basket they deliver, the company plants a fruit tree in Malawi in south-east Africa with the organisation Ripple Africa. This results in around 50 alpha trans trees every year, offering many thousands of families in Malawi a new source of work and income.
Everyone talks about recycling, but we do it properly. We work with Shred-it to make sure that all of our paper waste is given a second life. The paper is reliably shredded and recycled, resulting in an astonishing 20,000 trees saved every year.
There is no limit to what you can achieve when you work together. On our Social Days, we work in teams in places that need support like animal shelters and food banks to help those in need.
It may be a cliché, but it’s true: children are our future. That is why we are always willing to donate for those that need help and support today. We support organisations like the Felix Neureuther Foundation, which is dedicated to getting kids and youngsters healthy and active.
